FOI request detail

Unused Cycle Storage in Camden and Islington

Request ID: FOI-2688-2425
Date published: 18 December 2024

You asked

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am seeking information on bicycle storage facilities installed by Transport for London in the boroughs of Camden and Islington. Specifically: 1. The number of bicycle storage racks installed in each borough during the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. 2. The number of these racks that were reported as unused or underused in each of these years. If data for the full three-year period is not available, please provide the information for the years for which data is accessible.

We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-2688-2425

Thank you for your request which we received on 25 November 2024, asking for information about cycle storage in Camden and Islington.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the information you have requested. We have not installed any bicycle storage racks in Camden and Islington. We have only previously installed Sheffield cycle stands on the TfL Road Network (the Red Routes), which we wouldn’t describe as cycle storage racks. You will have to contact the respective boroughs for cycle parking data on their roads.

We do not collect usage data on cycle parking.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
