To whom it may concern... I am writing to you today to make a request into the number of TFL buses which have been issued with fines for waiting in yellow boxes. I am not asking for any individuals details, just the number of fines issued to TFL buses in the last year by London local authorities. Thank you very much for your time....

We answered

Our ref: FOI-2683-1617

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 March 2017 asking for information about the number of fines issued to buses for stopping in yellow boxes.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. Unfortunately we do not hold the information you require.

The highway code and rules of the road apply to all vehicles on our roads including buses. Bus services in London are operated on TfL’s behalf by a number of bus operating companies. Any penalties issued to buses would be issued to the relevant bus operator, and TfL has no record of these.

I am sorry that we are unable to assist you further on this occasion.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
