Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18 February 2022 asking for information about the A1000 bicycle lane impact on surrounding roads.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You asked: Please provide any information TFL has about the short, medium or long term actual or potential effect, whether measured or predicted of the A1000 bicycle lane scheme on traffic usage patterns and volume in nearby roads in East Finchley and Muswell Hill, specifically Fortis Green, Twyford Avenue, Church Vale, Beech Drive, Ringwood Avenue, Creighton Avenue, Coppetts Road, Trott Road, Pages Lane, Albert Road, Durnsford Road and Colney Hatch Lane.

We do not hold the information you have requested regarding traffic volumes on Barnet’s local roads. This is because Barnet Council introduced the bus/cycle lane along the A1000 in Finchley in September 2020 under an 18 months Experimental Traffic Management Order (TMO) to support safe local travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, this was funded by the Department for Transport (DfT) Government’s emergency active travel fund.
As part of the review period of the scheme, following statutory consultation, Barnet Council are carrying out a range of traffic data collection. This includes traffic and cycle volumes, queue length and journey times surveys and air quality.
