Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2 December 2019.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:
Could you please tell me who authorised the removal of wands and traffic separators on Victoria Embankment between the Blackfriars underpass and Blackfriars bridge for Lord Mayor’s show on Nov 9th 2019.
TfL has a Section 8 Highways Act 1980 agreement with the City of London to remove traffic infrastructure items for special events on request which has been in place since 2015. TfL carries out this duty for the Lord Mayor’s Show. On this occasion TfL instructed their contractors to remove all street furniture assets including red and white barriers, rediweld islands and sign posts at Victoria Embankment between Blackfriars underpass and Blackfriars Bridge on the weekend of 2 and 3 November 2019. These items were reinstated by 16 November 2019. A slip road closure was in place for the majority of the works where deemed necessary for safety reasons.
When was it requested, when was the request approved, who approved it and what were the conditions attached to the approval.
The City of London initially requested this in July 2019.
Who then reinstalled these 2 weeks later?
TfL reinstalled all street furniture that had been removed within two weeks as requested following the Lord Mayor’s Show.
