Good afternoon. I am looking at opening a restaurant and have the above locations as potential sites. I would be grateful if you could provide me with passenger info over the last 5 years for the number of people that pass through both Piccadilly underground V Leicester Square. Thank you for your email which we received on 18 February 2022 asking for information about passengers using Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square tube stations.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm TfL does hold the information you require.

For typical day station usage, we have annual counts data from 2017 available at http://crowding.data.tfl.gov.uk/.  For annual counts before 2017 please see ‘Entry and Exit figures by station’ available at https://data.london.gov.uk/dataset/london-underground-performance-reports?resource=b6ab04fc-9062-4291-b514-7fa218073b4c.

By following the arrows to the ‘Demand by Travel Mode’ page and clicking on ‘Demand by Station Type’, select the London Underground station of your choice and this will produce a graph illustrating the ‘Number of Taps Per Day’ . Additionally, by hovering your mouse along the base of the graph, a pop-up message will feature stating the date and number of daily taps recorded for the selected station.
