You asked

I have been looking for information regarding step free provision at Bond Street station following the introduction of Crossrail but have not been able to find specific information My questions are 1. Following the opening of Crossrail, would the Bond Street Jubilee line platform and the Central Line platform by step-free to TRAIN? Note I already know it will be step-free to platform, so please do not include this information in your response 2. If not step-free to TRAIN, will there be platform humps on the Jubilee line platform and the Central line platform, so that they are partially step free to TRAIN? 3. If not even partially step free to TRAIN, will both the Jubilee line platform and the Central line platform benefit from turn up and go ramp service, or will the service need to be booked in advance? 2

We answered

Thank you for your email received by us on 29 March 2017 asking for information about step free access to existing London Underground services at Bond Street station following the introduction of Crossrail. I apologise for the delay in my response.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

1. Following the opening of Crossrail, would the Bond Street Jubilee line platform and the Central Line platform by step-free to TRAIN? Note I already know it will be step-free to platform, so please do not include this information in your response

I can advise that Bond Street Station will have step-free access from street to train including interchange routes when the upgrade is completed.

The Jubilee line already has platform humps and this will provide step-free access to/from platform and to/from trains.

Due to the nature of Central line rolling stock, platform humps are not a viable solution and therefore manual boarding ramps are required. The upgrade project is currently reviewing the design for these with procurement, fabrication and installation to be finalised for when the station opens later this year. Whilst we do not currently have a confirmed date for when the ramps will be installed, upon installation they will operate on a turn up and go basis.

If this is not the information you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact me.
