Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 October 2023 asking for information about our Ambassadors.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for the total number of shifts worked by Non-licensed and Licensed Ambassadors working on London Underground stations since October 2022.
TfL Ambassadors go out to help our customers when our services are busier than usual. This could be during a planned event or when there’s a disruption that affects our network. There are two types of Ambassador:
Non-Licensed TfL Ambassadors give directions and information when services are busier than usual or the network is affected by travel disruption.
Licensed TfL Ambassadors help customers within London Underground stations - on gatelines and on platforms. A typical Licensed TfL Ambassador shift involves working within a station with operational colleagues.
In the period of 01/10/2022-29/10/2023 the following shifts had been worked by TfL Ambassadors at LU Stations:
5302 Licensed shifts 737 Non-Licensed shifts
