Thank you for your email received by us on 15 December 2018 asking for information about Freedom Pass on the Elizabeth line.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

“Can the freedom pass be used on the Elizabeth line if so what stations are valid?”

Freedom Passes will be accepted:
• On the TfL Rail service between Paddington and Heathrow when it opens in May 2018, replacing the existing Heathrow Connect service and part of the Great Western inner suburban service. This service will become part of the Elizabeth Line from December 2019;
• On the Elizabeth Line service between Paddington and Abbey Wood when it opens in December 2018;
• On the Elizabeth Line service between Paddington and Shenfield when it opens in May 2019

Freedom Passes will be accepted on the above services at all the stations served.

From December 2019 the Elizabeth Line will be fully opened, with services running from Reading and Heathrow in the west through the central tunnels to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. Freedom Pass availability at stations on the line to Reading, which will not be served until December 2019, will be determined in conjunction with the London Boroughs, who manage and fund the Freedom Pass scheme, and an announcement made closer to the opening date.
