I am doing some research on card clash at UCL, I was wondering if you could possibly help me get the recording of the announcement made at train/tube stations where she says 'keep your contactless cards separate to avoid card clash etc.'

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 21 March 2017 asking for information about the card clash announcement.

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. 

 

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested.

 

Staff in our zone 1 stations were asked to record an announcement using the standard wording as below, which is currently being announced at all zone 1 stations on an 20 minute cycle:

 

“Watch out for card clash. Always use the same single card or smartphone when touching in and out to get the best fare.”

 

Because this announcement is recorded by staff at each individual station we do not have a physical copy we can send to you.

 

We would however have no objection to you taking a recording of this on your own device from one of our stations which may be possible during a quieter period.
