Can you please tell me why three times now you have parked your mobile ULEZ camera vans in Old Coulsdon, Surrey, on roads outside the extended ULEZ zone monitoring traffic.
Once on Marlpit Lane on the 12th September van reg xxxx And twice on Coulsdon Road on the 18th October, reg number xxxx and 24th October reg number xxxx

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24th October 2023 asking for information about ULEZ camera vans seen in Coulsdon.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Can you please tell me why three times now you have parked your mobile ULEZ camera vans in Old Coulsdon, Surrey, on roads outside the extended ULEZ zone monitoring traffic. Once on Marlpit Lane on the 12th September van reg xxxx And twice on Coulsdon Road on the 18th October, reg number xxxx and 24th October reg number xxxx”.
I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
TfL has deployed mobile units as part of our extensive camera network to support the effective operation of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) scheme. Mobile units were mistakenly directed by our Contractor to Marlpit Lane and Coulsdon Road on the dates you indicated. These locations have been subsequently removed from the deployment schedule and safeguards have been put in place to ensure this will not occur again. Location coding within the enforcement system means that although the cameras were live, no records have been retained or used for enforcement.
