Which Londoners were consulted about the expansion of the ULEZ zone?
Request ID: FOI-2619-2223 Date published: 07 February 2023
You asked
Why were we not consulted about the expansion of the ULEZ zone that will include our area?
If you are so concerned about air quality surely cars should be judged on how well they are serviced and emissions.
Some newer petrol cars or newer diesel cars that will be exempt and are not regularly serviced will not have to pay.
We have an old, extremely reliable well serviced car which will not be exempt. We do not want to change it and neither will we be able to afford to use it. Worst thing is we were at no time asked for our opinions or consulted. We were not even aware of this expansion until relatively recently. This is outrageous.... it is not to improve air quality but purely as a way to collect revenue from those that can least afford it, particularly those like my husband and I with health and mobility issues who depend on their car. This is UNDEMOCRATIC imposed on the citizens of London by DIKTAT.
