Under the Freedom of Information Act, please could you provide me with the data for
the pedestrian crossing times for each of the pedestrian crossings navigating Pembury
Circus (junction to Pembury Road, east and west junctions to Dalston Lane and east
and west junctions to Amhurst Road). For each I request both the waiting time from the
point of activating/pressing the pedestrian crossing until the green man is displayed;
and the corresponding crossing time allowed for a pedestrian to cross the relevant
crossing. Please supply this in an excel format.

The wait times are based on historic averages. This represents the wait time if a pedestrian pushed the pedestrian button at the end of the green figure being shown - this therefore represents the longest wait time. It should be noted that timings will vary according to the signal plans running so there are a variety of possible timings that could be provided.
The green duration is how long the green figure is displayed on average. The absolute minimum is six seconds. At this particular site, the green figures are displayed on average for longer than six seconds as shown in the “Green Duration” column as pedestrian crossings appear with non-conflicting traffic phases so can run for longer. Therefore, most of the pedestrian phases far exceeded the absolute minimum six seconds.
