This expenditure supports a wide range of transport services and related activities, including essential safety, security and ticketing messages.
It supports key campaigns such as:

· Road safety
· The promotion of improvements to transport
· Information for those with accessibility needs
· Encouraging safer travel and courtesy
· Giving customer information for major events which could disrupt London’s roads and public transport.
The increased spend in April 2015 - March 2016 was related to the implementation of the Road Modernisation programme, which is a £4bn programme involving the biggest improvements in London’s roads in a decade.  We have also produced information to help customers plan their journeys during the roadworks, encourage road users to plan ahead of large scale cycling events such as Tour of Britain and Ride London, promote road safety and consult Londoners on proposals to improve our services.
