Thank you for your request received on 20 November 2019 asking for information regarding our Health and Safety team.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

Significant risks to our customers on London Underground are captured and reviewed in our customer risk assessments. The customer risk assessment for Wood Green station considers any significant safety risks associated with using the station that our customers might face. The risk of customers accidentally colliding into each other on the station is not identified as a significant risk at Wood Green. 

Passenger flow and crowd congestion are managed locally in accordance with the Crowd Control Emergency plan. This plan sets out the actions to be taken to safely manage and prevent congestion on the station. Our station staff are trained and competent in managing congestion, including implementing local mitigation for any additional congestion from scenarios such as local events, or reduced escalator availability. We have arranged for an additional member of station staff to be available during peak times on the station, to monitor and assist with passenger movements during these escalator works taking place between 26 November 2018 and 30 April 2020.
