You asked
Dear TFL
Under FOI please confirm the following:
• Which company is responsible for carrying out the practical repairs to non- ULEZ related infrastructure that has been vandalised?
• Which company is responsible for the costs of repairs to non-ULEZ related infrastructure vandalised as part of public objections to the imposition of the ULEZ scheme in outer London? Please note I am not asking how much this is costing just which company is paying for it? Basically in simple terms – does the vandalism as a result of ULEZ cost TFL money?
Clarification received 25/10/2023: There is simple explanation and sorry for not being clearer in my question.
Where for example an entire traffic light pole and lights has been cut down in order to render the ulez camera mounted on the same set of lights – who pays for the replacement / repairs required?
We answered
TfL Ref: EIR-2592-2324 Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 19th October 2023 – as clarified on 25th October 2023 - asking for information about the vandalism of TfL infrastructure. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. Specifically you asked: “Where for example an entire traffic light pole and lights has been cut down in order to render the ulez camera mounted on the same set of lights – who pays for the replacement / repairs required?” I can confirm that we hold the information you require. TfL covers the cost of repairs to this infrastructure. Vandalism is unacceptable and all incidents on our network are reported to the police for investigation. Criminal damage to ULEZ cameras or infrastructure puts the perpetrators at risk of prosecution and injury, while simultaneously risking the safety of the public. If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me. Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
