Question 1) Can you clarify the what steps are taken in order to establish whether TFL will proceed with legal proceedings?
Answer: This is set out in our Revenue Enforcement and Prosecutions Policy, a copy of which is published on our website here:
In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
Question 2) What is the length of time that will be taken to establish how to proceed?
Answer: This can vary from case to case depending on the individual circumstances in each case. The average length of time from an offence date to a prosecution charge being laid by TfL is 2 months.
Question3) Is there a designated team / contact number for the Investigation Appeals and Prosecutions Team?
Answer: All communications in respect of potential legal proceedings are required in writing as they may need to be disclosed in Court as part of those proceedings. All of TfL’s contact details for correspondence can be found on the Help & Contacts section of our website here:
