We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-2579-2021 Thank you for your revised request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 16 March 2021. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked: 1) What are the total number of buses that stop at the stand 214 Battersea Bridge road, for the period of Jan 2020 - Jan 2021 (broken down by month) During Jan 2020 to Jan 2021, the following buses routes used the bus stand in question: Route 345 – on average 3 curtailments a week. Route 49 – on average 10-15 curtailments a year. Route 44 - on average 5 curtailments a week. Route 319 – on average 1 curtailment a week Route 19 used this bus stand between 2 Feb and 24 Feb 2021, due to the unavailability of its normal stand on Elcho Street as a result of temporary construction in the area. 2) What information do you hold on the advised use of the 214 Battersea Bridge Road bus stand in the last 12 months The bus stand on Battersea Bridge Road, adjacent to Battersea Theatre Apartments is not a permanent stand for any particular bus route. Rather, it’s a spare stand which is used whenever needed. The bus stand is available for use by bus routes 44, 49, 319 and 345, whenever these routes are required to turn around prior to reaching the scheduled destination for the purposes of maintaining a reliable schedule. In addition, this stand was used as a main and full-time terminus stand for route 19 as explained above. 3) what assessments were undertaken to understand the impact of the increase in activity to the surrounding residents in the last 18 months 4) what consultation on was undertaken beforehand with the residents on the impact of this increased activity in the last 18 months Bus stands are an important element of running comprehensive bus services across London and at any one time some may be used more than others in relation to current routes and places where vehicles may come out of/return into service. As we need the network to remain flexible, we do not re-assess them in relation to vehicle movements. However, we will always try to operate services in a way that minimises the impact on our neighbours as well as offer relatively easy access to the network from where residents live. We haven’t carried out any consultation or assessment because the bus stand in question is a valid bus stand which TfL uses whenever necessary in order to operate bus services in the area. If you are considering submitting a further request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI/EIR requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.
