We answered
TfL Ref: 2578-2223
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 22 December 2022 and following clarification, 3 and 22 January 2023 asking for information about current improvement projects being consulted upon.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:
the number of man hours of your employees involved in the latest improvements project for which you are awaiting Consultations still in current stage
The consultation was relating to Battersea Bridge where the cycle Lane can take cyclists in either direction and therefore only one per bridge is adequate
In reference to the live projects featured in the ‘Have Your Say’ newsletter you received about the Battersea Bridge and Silvertown Tunnel Projects, we have an Engagement Officer assigned to manage the delivery of the Silvertown Bus Consultation, and a Consultation Specialist assigned to deliver the Battersea Bridge Consultation.
The team involved works on an agile basis, rather than a timesheet based system, typically handling three to four consultation projects at any given time, hence such resource based data is not recorded in the format requested.
Will you ignore the outcome and institute what you want as previously the Mayor ignores the majority
Through our consultation process we ensure that people who are likely to be affected by a proposed change, have an opportunity to:
Learn about the proposal,
Review all of the necessary information relating to the proposal,
Consider how this might impact them, and
Share their views with us
Our consultations are always run before a decision has been made on how to proceed with a proposed change.Through our consultations we commit to listen to the feedback provided and to consider this in our decision making process. Importantly, a consultation is not a referendum on a binary question, for example: Should we do this? Yes or no. Rather, the consultation process assists us in making the best informed decision by listening to those impacted by our proposals and considering their feedback in the wider context of what our proposals aim to achieve. Following this consideration, we may decide not to proceed with our proposal, or we may alter elements of our proposals, although we may proceed as planned, based on what we've learned.
We would like to advise that the Mayor is not involved in deciding how to proceed on either of the Battersea Bridge or Silvertown Tunnel projects, since the decision makers are senior staff within TfL. If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
