I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 connected to average speed cameras on the A20. Please could you provide details of the number of conditional offers of a fixed penalty issued since 18th October 2023 until 10th November 2024 in relation to the average speed cameras on Sandy Lane and Cookham Road as per the order GLA 2023 No.0622: THE A20 GLA ROAD (SIDCUP BY-PASS, LONDON BOROUGHS OF BEXLEY AND BROMLEY) (TEMPORARY 40 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023. Please could you provide the data in monthly, or part of, increments. Please also provide details of the total sums charged over this period in pounds sterling either as a total figure or in monthly increments. Please could you also rank this average speed camera with other average speed camera’s within London in terms of the total number of conditional offers of a fixed penalty issued for the month of August 2024. For sake of ease please just rank it compared to the top ten average speed cameras that have led to the highest number of fixed penalty notices issued in London. Finally, please provide the date that the works to remedy the drainage were completed and the date that the temporary speed limit ended.

Thank you for your request received on 10 November 2024 asking for information about the average speed cameras on the A20.

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. 

 

We do not hold information on speed related contraventions. Speeding enforcement is carried out by the respective police force so this information would be held by the Metropolitan Police Service, please contact them directly:

The speed limits have now returned to the previous 50MPH and 70MPH restrictions. These works were completed on 23 October 2024.
