Thank you for your request of 20^th November 2019 asking for information about off-site deaths of Crossrail workers.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

“I would be grateful if you could provide the relevant data (if you hold it) on workers engaged on the Crossrail project that have subsequently died off site while working there.”

I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.

Six employees have passed away whilst in employment with Crossrail Ltd or its predecessor organisation, Cross London Rail Links – two in 2009 and one in each of 2012, 2013, 2018 and 2019. All six employees were based in the Crossrail head office.

Construction workers on the Crossrail project are employed by Crossrail’s principal contractors and their supply chains. TfL does not hold the data you have requested relating to the employees of contractors.
