c) On how many occasions have the timings of the traffic light sequences been changed? What were the changes? When were these changes?
The traffic signals at this junction are controlled by our dynamic traffic control system, which uses detectors buried in the road surface to measure traffic flow on each approach and then adjusts the amount of green time given. This means that the timings can be constantly changing and optimising to live traffic conditions to balance the needs of all customers. The signal timings can also be manually adjusted by operators working in our Network Management Control Centre when responding to incidents such as collisions or roadworks. As such, it is not possible to quantify how many and when these small changes were made.
We regularly carry out an in-depth review of the traffic control system to ensure it is working as effectively as possible and is correctly balancing the needs of all road users. We last carried out one of these timing reviews in July 2018, where we sought to increase the amount of green time to the north and south movements over Battersea Bridge. Previously, this junction was also reviewed in 2013, whereby the maximum amount of available green time was increased for all approaches.
d) Where are the TFL operated CCTV cameras located in the vicinity of the junction? When were these cameras installed/operational?
One of TfL’s CCTV cameras is situated at the site of the foot of Battersea Bridge on the south east corner at the north side of the bridge. From our records we believe that the original site was installed in 1995.
The nearest cameras to this site are located at the following locations:
Chelsea Embankment – Albert Bridge – Oakley Street
Albert Bridge Road Southside by Anhalt road
Tadema Road by Kings Road
Battersea Bridge Road by Westbridge Road
Battersea Bridge Road – Ethelburga Street

These cameras are marked on the map below:
