Road closure that occurred on the 15th of September at Lillie Road (A3218)

Request ID: FOI-2505-1819
Date published: 16 January 2019

You asked

I have been trying to gather evidence and reason for a road closure that occurred on the 15th of September at Lillie Road (A3218) near West Brompton station at approximately 1230-1400. There is a reference number for a Freedom of Information Request, 12707344, but this appears to have been returned to me without further information, so I am submitting this back to you directly. This is in support of an insurance claim due to a missed flight.

We answered

TfL Ref: 2505-1819

Thank you for your email received by us on 13 December 2018 asking for information about a road closure that occurred on 15 September 2018 at Lillie Road (A3218) near West Brompton Station.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as the A3218 Lillie Road is not part of the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN). The vicinity referenced in your request is on the border of a section of road which falls under the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea to the east of West Brompton station, and Hammersmith & Fulham Borough to the west.

We have no recorded entry of this incident for Lillie Road on our Traffic Information Management System, or for the nearby A3218 Old Brompton Road, A3220 Finborough Road or A3220 Warwick Road on or around 15 September 2018. As previously mentioned, Lillie Road is not on the TLRN and the police do not pass every road closure to Transport For London’s London Streets Traffic Control Centre if this was due to a protest or temporary holds to traffic, for example.

In these circumstances, you may wish to pursue this matter with the Metropolitan Police. A Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD); a record of police incidents on their system, would have been created if police personnel were involved in such a matter.

Please accept our apologies for being unable to be of assistance on this occasion.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
