We answered

Our ref: FOI-2501-1617

Thank you for your email received on 13 March 2017 asking for information about Tube Map Release Dates.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

We do not have the dates for future Tube map releases. This is because we usually update the maps when the Rail & Tube map gets updated. The Rail & Tube map gets updated when the other National Rail maps get updated, and this normally occurs when National Rail timetables change, which happens at some point in May and December.

Sometimes we have reason to update the maps at a different time, for example if any major changes to the tube network occur. For example, we pushed the December 2015 update to January 2016 because a few stations moved to a new fare zone in January.

Old versions of maps on display at stations are usually destroyed and recycled.

If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
