Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 December 2022 asking for information about the Victoria Line Night Tube service.

If annual statistics are not available, please provide average monthly statistics for passengers using the Victoria line stations during night tube hours on either Friday or Saturday.

If possible, please also provide statistics for 2021, too.

The information you asked for covering passenger statistics on the Victoria Line Night Tube during 2021, is available on our website using the following link to the NUMBAT spreadsheets we provide for usage on a typical Friday and Saturday night here: http://crowding.data.tfl.gov.uk/

Please refer to the ‘NB21TFRI_OUTPUTS’ and ‘NB21TSAT_OUTPUTS’ spreadsheets featured for further information. Station flows, entry and exits, as well as line boarders are amongst the datasets published, detailing passenger usage on a quarterly hour basis

In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of some of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.

We can also advise that in accordance with the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply the Night Tube passenger usage you are seeking for 2022, as it is subject to a statutory exemption to the right of access to information, under Section 22 of the Act. In this instance the exemption has been applied as the data you have requested is intended for future publication during this Springtime on TfL’s website.

This exemption is subject to a public interest test, which requires us to assess whether the public interest in applying the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosure. In this instance, it is considered that the public interest favours the publication of this information, in context and according to the pre-determined schedule, rather than in response to your request, to ensure the information is provided accurately and in an accessible manner.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
