Thank you for your e-mail clarifying your request for information about Compliance Officers on Oxford Street.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

I can confirm that TfL are not authorised to enforce against moving traffic contraventions on Oxford Street as it is not part of the TfL Road Network (TLRN). If you require any further information on the TLRN, you can find it here: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/red-routes.

Please note that any notifiable traffic offences such as red light jumping, speeding, or dangerous driving, are only enforced by the Police. We encourage anyone with concerns over dangerous or illegal road user behaviour in London to report it direct to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) on their online reporting tool at https://beta.met.police.uk/report/report-a-road-traffic-incident/. The information will go straight into the MPS intelligence systems, which are used to help direct enforcement activity.

Non-notifiable traffic offences such as banned turns or yellow box junction violations are enforced by the local Highway Authority. As Oxford Street is a borough road, the Highway Authority is Westminster City Council, and they would carry out any enforcement of moving traffic violations.
