Our ref: FOI-2435-1617
Thank you for your email received by us on 6 March 2017 asking for information about traffic orders.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. You asked:

Please supply a copy of the traffic order under which vehicles have been banned from turning right from the A23 Streatham High Road (northbound carriageway) into Hopton Road, Streatham and from turning right from Hopton Road onto the A23 Streatham High Road.

There is a kerbed median (central reservation) dividing the northbound and southbound traffic at this point of Streatham High Road, which means it is not physically possible to turn right into or out of Hopton Road at its junction with Streatham High Road. There is therefore no requirement for a traffic order banning such turns. A regulatory blue sign is in place informing drivers who approach Streatham High Road from Hopton Road that they may only turn left. Drivers on Streatham High Road would first have to perform a U-turn before then turning left into Hopton Road. There is a regulatory No U-turn sign in place on the kerbed median which prevents this manoeuvre.
