Dear Team Freedom of Information request regarding route 159 (Abellio bus company) 1) I would like to know the current time it takes for the 159 bus to travel between Streatham Hill and Holmewood Road and the reverse Holmewood Road to Streatham Hill, versus the proposed time it will take for the same bus to travel the same route after the proposed TFL Imrovements to the A23 Streatham Hill to Morrish Road have been completed. I believe the current time is 2 minutes, and would like you to confirm this, see below screenshot from Holmewood Road to Streatham Hill Station 2) How much the budget is for the proposed Improvements to the A23 Streatham Hill to Morrish Road, 3) What the cost benefit analysis is, for example if the bus time improves by 1 minute – how much does that minute cost. Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 October 2024 asking for information about bus route 159.

 

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

 

Please find attached the iBus running time data for Route 159 as requested.

 

Please note the following:

 

  • The data supplied is from 26/09/2024 to 25/10/2024 between Streatham Hill and Holmewood Road, Monday to Fridays only.
  • Running time data has been supplied in each direction grouped by time periods. 
  • The daily average figures are displayed in decimal minutes, therefore to convert the figures to minutes and seconds, simply multiply the figure after the decimal by 60.

 

The Budget for ST-PJ475C A23 Streatham High Road is as follows:

Prior years expenditure £2.2m (2017/18 to 2023/24)

2024/25 £6.9m

2025/26 £0.4m

 

Total Budgeted EFC £9.5m

 

The cost benefit analysis has not been calculated specifically for this route.
