I would like to request information regarding TfL Employee References under the Freedom of Information Act. I would like to know: a) What details are included in a TfL Employee Reference? b) Are details of any (expired) disciplinaries included? I would be grateful if you could provide me with the above information by email to this email address. I look forward to hearing from you under the time frame specified in the above legislation.

Thank you for your request of 26th February 2021 asking for information about employee references.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

Specifically you asked:

“I would like to request information regarding TfL Employee References under the Freedom of Information Act. I would like to know:

  1. What details are included in a TfL Employee Reference?
  2. Are details of any (expired) disciplinaries included?”

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. TfL employee references provide the following information about the staff member: name, position, start date of employment and the type of contract. No other details (such as information relating to disciplinaries) are included.
