I am in the process of creating a real-life accurate representation of TfL's London Bus route 418 and , 406 for the Bus Simulator, OMSI2. I would like to know, if it is possible, for me to obtain digital copies of the relevant iBus announcements, used on this route. These would then be released, as part of the project, along with all the simulator relevant files. I know this is possible in some way, as others before me have done so. I would also like to know, what information is available for my own personal use, about the route. This would include allocations, duties, running times etc. I understand some of this would not be available, but I would like to know exactly what I can 'get my hands on', in order to make my life creating the route easier.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:

Please find the enclosed CD containing iBus announcements for your perusal. Unfortunately we are unable to extract individual routes therefore the CD contains all iBus announcements.

Please note that while access to the iBus announcements has been provided to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, you are not granted any rights to any of the intellectual property that exists in it or granted any permission to make secondary uses of it. TfL owns all intellectual property (including, without limitation, copyright) in the material supplied and will defend such rights.

If you wish to make any secondary use of the material provided, you must first obtain the consent of TfL (which may be withheld) and, if consent is granted, a fee may be charged, in accordance with the terms of the Reuse of Public Sector Information Regulations 2005.

The 418 and 406 were both initially operating under London United. They were operating from Tolworth until April 2007 where they were reallocated from Tolworth to Fulwell. In June 2007 Quality Line took over both contracts, and the services were both operating from Epsom garage. They are still both operating from there.

With regard to duties/running times, the bus schedules are available on our website via the following link:

You can just type in the route number and it will bring up the schedule containing the required information. All expired ones can be downloaded from the link below the search.

In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
