Thank you for your email received by us on 03 March 2017 asking for information about advertising expenditure.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:
Could you please let me know the total expenditure on the following two advertising campaigns which TFL have engaged in: 1) Radio advertising extolling the virtues of TFL 2) Radio advertising informing general public that all licensed taxis now accept credit card payments.
TfL spent a total of £32,883 advertising on radio that London taxis now accept payment by card. This new payment method was introduced based on extensive feedback from customers.
In relation to the other element of your question we are not aware of any TfL radio advertising that promotes TfL in the way you describe. If you have a particular advertisement in mind please provide us with more details and we will let you have the details of how much we have spent on it.
