Central Line trains availability in peak periods

Hi, Can you confirm how many times the central line has had the required number of trains - 78 - available during the rush hour for the past 2 months? To run the advertised service of 34 trains per hour during the busy period.

Thank you for your request received on 23 November 2017 asking for information about the Central Line.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:

Can you confirm how many times the central line has had the required number of trains - 78 - available during the rush hour for the past 2 months? To run the advertised service of 34 trains per hour during the busy period.

In total the Central line had a full service on 37 of 122 peak services. Please see the table below for further details covering the period 1 October 2017 to 30 November 2017. Please note that the figures are based on whether there were enough trains available to run the full service. Therefore if trains did not run due to Train Operators not being available this would not be included in the figures

A full service is based on the following:
• 78 trains in service at 9am and 6pm (Mon-Fri);
• 65 in service at 9am, and 72 at 6pm (Sat);
• 50 in service at 9am, and 61 at 6pm (Sun)
