Request ID: FOI-2382-2122 Date published: 10 February 2022
You asked
I wish to obtain information regarding the construction of Cycleways (such as C4) and TfL-funded protected bike lanes (such as the Westminster Bridge lanes which are currently under construction).
May I have a list of Cycleways/protected bike lanes that will be constructed regardless of whether TfL obtains more funding from central government on 4 February 2022? In other words, which schemes already have funding secured and a confirmed start date of construction?

TfL Ref: 2382-2122
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18 January 2022 asking for information about Cycleways/protected bike lanes.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked: I wish to obtain information regarding the construction of Cycleways (such as C4) and TfL-funded protected bike lanes (such as the Westminster Bridge lanes which are currently under construction). The Cycleway/protected bike lanes that currently have funding committed as part of previous Government funding settlements for Active Travel schemes, and have a confirmed start date for construction, even if TfL obtains no more funding from central government on 18 February 2022, are split into four groups:
Schemes that we are currently part-way through construction on site, and funding is committed to complete that construction.
Schemes that are on site as temporary or experimental projects where we have a statutory duty to review and amend, depending on the review outcome. These schemes are subject to TfL decision making processes, and there may be construction works to enable transitions to experimental or permanent schemes, or for a scheme to be removed from site. Funding has been set-aside to undertake necessary works for these schemes.
Schemes that our Borough partners currently have committed funding for construction as part of their Active Travel Fund Tranche 2 allocation, that is permitted to be spent by the end of 30 September 2022. These schemes are subject to Borough decision making processes to start on site.
Third party funded schemes which will continue, as they are not dependent upon funding from central Government, and the scope includes cycle facilities and other Healthy Streets benefits to support sustainable travel.
The schemes in each category are listed below: Group 1
