Thank you for your email received by us on 10 December 2018 asking for information about the cost of London bus fares from 1990 to 2018.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:

A history of how much the cash single fares have cost on TFL buses over the years and how much the oyster and contactless single fares have cost on TFL buses over the years. I would like information for each year from 1990 to 2018. I believe the fares normally change from 1/1/xxxx and stay the same until 31/12/xxxx so you can just tell me how much they cost each year (although please let me know if there were any exceptions to this and the fares changed at a different time of the year).
