LRS Pier Licences - start and end date

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3 October 2023 asking for information about LRS Pier Licences - start and end date.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked: Please provide the start and end date for all LRS pier licences between and including Westminster and Greenwich, excluding RB1, RB2, RB4 and RB6. Will any new licences become available between today's date and the end of 2025 for LRS piers between and including Westminster and Greenwich.


TfL holds licences with 4 operators running services between Westminster and Greenwich Piers. The start and end dates of our licences with these operators are listed as follows:
 
  • Thames Clippers RB6 licence – April 2019 to March 2034
  • Thames Clippers RB1, 2 & 5 licence – January 2015 to December 2029
  • City Cruises scheduled service licence – January 2001 to March 2030
  • Crown River Cruises licence – April 2022 to March 2032
  • Thames River Sightseeing licence – April 2022 to March 2032

There are currently no planned new licences for schedule services calling at our larger piers including Westminster, Tower, Embankment and Greenwich before 2025. However, there is opportunity to call at our smaller piers such as Blackfriars and Festival and we welcome discussions with operators offering new service proposals at any of our piers.
