TfL Ref:2356-1617
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24 February 2017 asking for information about the contract awarded to Blaze Laserlight in respect of the Santander cycle scheme.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.
Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as the contract you are referring to is one between Serco, the company appointed by us to run the Santander Cycles scheme, and Blaze, the company that supplies the Laserlight product. Because we are not directly involved in this agreement, we do not hold the information you have requested. Any decisions regarding the future installation of the Laserlights will also be covered by a contract between Serco and Blaze.
We understand there is a two year warranty in place on the Laserlights, meaning that any faulty products are replaced free of charge over this period. Any additional operational or maintenance costs would be agreed between Serco and Blaze, with no cost being incurred by TfL.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
Sara Thomas
