Could you please tell me the information for how many people are: 1) how many people are arrested for avoiding tube tickets and travelling regardless. 2)how many people are fined for avoiding tune tickets and travelling regardless. Could I have the requested information from 2016 onwards.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:

  1. how many people are arrested for avoiding tube tickets and travelling regardless.

We do not record the number of arrests. You should contact the British Transport Police for this information. They can be contacted at [email protected].

Since 1 April 2016 to 9 November 2019 TfL has prosecuted 15,755 individuals for fare evasion and issued 96,396 penalty fares on the London Underground.
