TfL Ref: FOI-2320-2021

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13 February 2021.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

Please confirm the date that TFL installed the 24/7 Bus Lane restriction on Battersea Bridge Road, please also confirm the number of Bus Lane penalty charge notices issued to drivers at this location between the date the new restriction was installed until 13-Feb-2021.

The 24-hour bus lanes trial, of which this bus lanes is a part, began on 13 September 2020 and is planned to be in place for at least six months to ensure we have enough time to properly monitor the effectiveness of the trial and potential impacts.

At the end of the trial, which could last for eighteen months, TfL will decide if the bus lanes should be permanently changed to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The decision to make the change permanent will depend on feedback received from the trial, bus reliability and the impact of other modes of traffic.

From 13 September 2020 up until 13 February 2021, three penalty charge notices (PCNs) have been issued for contravention of this bus lane showing good compliance.

If you are considering submitting a further request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI/EIR requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.
