We do not hold information explaining key differences between the currently anticipated cost of the project and the estimated cost of the project pre-2010.
Information on the currently anticipated cost of the project will be made available in the future. The Mayor has asked TfL, on behalf of both the Department for Transport and TfL, who are joint sponsors of the Crossrail project, to commission independent reviews, including a review into Crossrail Limited's financing. The reviews are being undertaken by KPMG and are nearing completion to ensure that as the project enters its critical next phase, financial projections for the project are robust.
The emerging findings of the KPMG review into Crossrail Limited's finances indicate the likely increase in the capital cost of the project could be in the region of between £1.6bn and £2bn, but the final cost projections for the project are yet to be confirmed. KPMG reviews will be published once they are complete.
Yours sincerely
