1. Please can you provide details of what total amounts were spent on Temporary Cycleway C9 and Experimental Cycleway C9 in the London Borough of Hounslow (LBH) in each of the following years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023? Please identify the amount funded by TfL and the amount funded by LBH.
2. Please identify the expected costs of making Cycleway C9 permanent, as set out in the construction drawings provided to the London Borough of Hounslow (LBH), and please confirm that these amounts have been budgeted and allocated to LBH.

TfL Ref: FOI-2291-2324 Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 28th September 2023 asking for information about the costs of the C9 project. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. Your questions are answered below: Question 1. Please can you provide details of what total amounts were spent on Temporary Cycleway C9 and Experimental Cycleway C9 in the London Borough of Hounslow (LBH) in each of the following years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023? Please identify the amount funded by TfL and the amount funded by LBH. Answer: We do not hold information on costs broken down by year. Rather, the information is held according to the phase of the project. Note further that all funding has come from TfL. On that basis, the answer is as follows:
The total construction cost of the temporary C9 scheme built in 2020 on Chiswick High Road between Heathfield Terrace and Goldhawk Road was £600k.
The total construction cost for the upgraded temporary scheme on Chiswick High Road between Goldhawk Road and Chiswick Lane completed in 2022 was £3.1m.
The construction costs of the upgraded temporary scheme on Chiswick High Road between Chiswick Lane and Heathfield Terrace completed in 2023 is £792,948, including signals works. Question 2. Please identify the expected costs of making Cycleway C9 permanent, as set out in the construction drawings provided to the London Borough of Hounslow (LBH), and please confirm that these amounts have been budgeted and allocated to LBH. Answer: This information is not held. The scope of the permanent Cycleway 9 project has not yet been finalised by the London Borough of Hounslow.
