You asked
F/O to 2125-2122
Dear FOI,
Thank you. Please can you confirm when in the last 24 months these embargo's have been utilised by Network Rail. Is there any reason why we should not revert to ad-hoc embargo's rather than routine?
We answered
TfL Ref: 2286-2122
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 January 2022 asking for information about the track embargo on the track used by the London Overground Chingford branch trains between Liverpool Street and Hackney Downs. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested. Network Rail are the rail infrastructure owners and they impose the embargo and manage all the track maintenance works. We do not have a record of when in the last 24 months these embargos have been utilised by Network Rail; you may want to contact Network Rail directly for this information and for any questions relating to the reasoning or methodology behind how they are used. Network Rail can be contacted at https://www.networkrail.co.uk/who-we-are/transparency-and-ethics/freedom-of-information-foi/
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
Sara Thomas FOI Case Management Team General Counsel Transport for London
