Bakerloo Line Extension (BLE) at Bricklayer’s Arms
Request ID: FOI-2282-1718
Date published: 05 January 2018
You asked
I am grateful for TfL's response to this Freedom of Information request - TfL Ref: 2158-1718. I do however note that the response states: “However it is important to note that the Bricklayers Arms study TfL has been undertaking has demonstrated that there are substantial utilities running under the site from Old Kent Road to Great Dover Street, associated with telecoms, gas and water.”
I would like to make a further freedom of information request, asking that TfL publish in full all documentation undertaken under the ‘Bricklayers Arms study’.
We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-2282-1718, FOI-2598-1718, FOI-2642-1718, FOI-2645-1718, FOI-2646-1718, FOI-2647-1718 and FOI-2661-1718
Your requests have been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require.
Unfortunately, to provide all of the information you have requested in the above seven requests would exceed the ‘appropriate limit’ of £450 set by the Freedom of Information (Appropriate Limit and Fees Regulations 2004).
Under section 12 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to comply with your requests if we estimate that the cost of determining whether we hold the information, locating and retrieving it and extracting it from other information would exceed the appropriate limit. This is calculated at £25 per hour for every hour spent on the activities described.
We estimate that processing all of the above requests would significantly exceed the cost limit and we would suggest that you prioritise the information you are most interested in to enable us to provide this information within the appropriate limit. In particular, the below requests* are likely to each exceed the cost limit on their own merit because of the difficulty in locating, extracting and retrieving the information required to answer them. Much of the relevant information will be archived and in some instances may not even be held but it will be difficult to determine when any search for the requested information can be deemed complete to the point we can be satisfied that all information held has been found

Please state in square metres the size of the construction sites for (1) each newly built Crossrail station, and (b) each new London Underground station that has opened in the last 20 years.
*FOI-2646-1718
What has been the past costs of delivering new London Underground stations on the Jubilee Line extension? Please publish figures for each specific station.
We are mindful of the fact that under Regulation 5(2) of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Appropriate Limits and Fees) Regulations 2004, we are permitted to aggregate requests where they relate to any extent to the same or similar information. Therefore, we feel it reasonable to allow you the opportunity to better focus your requests to the information you give a higher priority. We have not gone on to consider a cumulative time estimate for your remaining questions but do not envisage the same level of difficulty that is evident in the above specific examples for any of the individual requests.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
