I'd like to request some information on the number of attempted thefts the London Transport Museum has had over the past 10 years.
Can you please provide me with a list of the number of attempted thefts for each year since 2011.

Thank you for your request received on 13 January 2022 asking for information about attempted thefts at the London Transport Museum.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require.
The Museum has 24/7 security. During opening hours security officers conduct regular bag checks when visitors enter the Museum and patrol all areas of the Museum and shop area to make sure our visitors are comfortable while on site and enjoy their visit with us. There is extensive CCTV coverage throughout the Museum and its perimeter. Members of the Museum Customer Services team are always on hand to assist visitors, and ensure the exhibits on display remain safe and secure. The Museum also works closely with the police on matters that require their support.
Please find the information regarding reported thefts from the giftshop and from visitors in the table below:
We do not record information on ‘attempted thefts’ from the giftshop or visitors. We are unlikely to be aware of any such incidents unless they were witnessed by someone or it was reported to us by a visitor.
There have been no thefts or attempted thefts of museum objects from 2011 to date.
