Please can you release any instruction manuals, guidebooks, screenshots or other documents designed to instruct users how to use the reporting tool for TfL’s London Underground wifi tracking data produced or distributed to staff in 2019. To further describe what I mean, I’m looking for instructions designed to teach non-technical members of TfL staff how to use the reporting tool to access data collected by the system. For example, a member of staff may wish to generate a report showing statistics for journeys between Kings Cross and Waterloo station based on the wifi data - I’m looking for instructions or training documents that would be given to staff to assist with this.

Thank you for your request received on 27 October 2019 asking for information on the instructions provided to access the WiFi tracking data.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.

We do not hold the information you have requested as we have not yet produced a reporting tool for staff to use as our focus has been on other customer benefits such as how the data can improve our journey planner. For awareness – on 4 November we announced that TfL has implemented the first improvements for customers following the start of collection of Wi-Fi connection data earlier this year. This has allowed us to update Journey Planner to reflect more accurately the time it takes to travel through stations during busy periods:
