Please find attached the defect report for this section of the A2 East Rochester way. This shows all defects logged with our highways contractor that make reference to drainage, gully or flooding. The report also shows defects logged in the PEM (public enquiry manager) and these are reports that have come from a variety of sources including customer enquiries and the local borough.

We are aware that there is a drainage issue at this location. Currently we carry out an enhanced cleaning regime to clear out the gullies and drains. Further investigations as to a resolution to the issue are taking place.

Also attached is a report that shows enquiries raised by members of the public with regard to flooding, blocked drains or standing water on the A2 East Rochester Way between 9 Dec 2019 to 31 December 2020.

For the A2 between Danson and Black Prince Interchanges there have been fifteen personal injury collisions recorded; two serious and thirteen slights from January 2019 to August 2020 which is the latest processed information we have. These collisions resulted in twenty-two people being injured – see attached.

Please note that this is for both directions, not just London bound. All 2020 records are currently provisional and subject to change.

If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.
