Thank you for your request received on 14 October 2024 asking for information about the impact of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) expansion on the London Borough of Bexley. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
1) The improvement in air quality since the implementation of the scheme citing the source of the information
On 8 April 2019 the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) was launched in Central London. On 25 October 2021 the zone was expanded across inner London, up to, but not including, the North and South Circular Roads. The zone was expanded in August 2023 to cover all London boroughs. Information on the impact of the expansion of the ULEZ, as well as the supporting data, is available on the GLA’s website: https://www.london.gov.uk/programmes-strategies/environment-and-climate-change/environment-and-climate-change-publications/london-wide-ulez-six-month-report 2) List all transport / clean projects funded by the ULEZ fees collected in the London Borough Of Bexley It is a statutory requirement that any net revenue generated by our road charging schemes (the ULEZ, LEZ or the Congestion Charge) is reinvested back into London’s transport network, including investing in improving transport links in outer London. All money received from the ULEZ is reinvested into improving London’s public transport network, such as expanding bus routes in outer London. Some of the programmes that the net revenue will be spent on are detailed in the Four-Year General Programme published on our website:
We do not hold a list of the specific schemes or projects that have been funded from income generated by the ULEZ.
