On the 18 January 2016 the "Instructions to Bidders" (Contract Notice: 2014/S 044-074152) for the New Tube for London Rolling Stock we issued. In that document it stated that the "Award decision and commencement of standstill period" would happen on the 13 October 2017. Did this decision get awarded? If yes then which bidder won the award? If no then why not and what are the next steps regarding this process?

Thank you for your email received on 12 November 2017 asking for information about bidding for New Tube for London.

Your request has been processed in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You asked:

On the 18 January 2016 the "Instructions to Bidders"  (Contract Notice: 2014/S 044-074152) for the New Tube for London Rolling Stock we issued.

In that document  it stated that the "Award decision and commencement of standstill period" would happen on the  13 October 2017.

Did this decision get awarded? If yes then which bidder won the award? If no then why not and what are the next steps regarding this process? 

The instructions to Bidders has been updated as part of an addendum issued October 2017 in order to ensure the Rolling Stock procurement keeps pace with the needs of TfL. Consequently Bidders will be submitting updated proposals for evaluation in December 2017 and the contract is planned for award in May 2018. The next steps remain in accordance with the ITN documents.
