We answered

TfL Ref 2243-2021

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5 February 2021 asking for information about London Underground approved suppliers.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as we don’t hold an ‘approved supplier list’ for London Underground as such.  However, the works to the retail units in Old Street Station are being carried as a package of works included in the contract we have with Morgan Sindall for the Old Street Roundabout project. Morgan Sindall are not procuring the works to the retail units as a discrete package of works but rather on a trade by trade basis, e.g. floor tiling, shop fronts, mechanical and electrical etc.

We do however have an ‘Approved Products Register’ which is referenced on p.17 of the our London Underground Supplier Handbook which is available here: LU Supplier Handbook. You may wish to apply for a login to the APR to see what data is available by requesting a login via the following link to the London Underground Products Register: http://www.lu-apr.co.uk/Pages/Logon.aspx

We also have standards that suppliers must meet in order for them to be utilised in the underground station environment. You can access further information on becoming a supplier in the following links:

If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
