Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5^th February 2021 asking for information about the London Underground Service Controller Level 2 role.

Question 1: Total Number of Positions across London Underground?

Answer: There are 243 positions for SCL2 at LU (including LUCC and 4LM)

Question 2: Number of Vacancies for this Grade and where these vacancies are located – for example 2 Vacancies on the District Line, 1 Vacancy on the Central Line ?

Answer: Currently, there are 34.4 vacancies (the 0.4 arises due to one individual working 2 days a week and another individual working one day a week). These are located as follows:

Bakerloo	2
Central	6.6
C&H	8.8
Jubilee	1
Piccadilly	11
Victoria	1
LUCC	4

Question 3: Number of people training for this Grade - if known?

Answer: There are currently 11 individuals training at different locations for this grade (including 2 undergoing classroom training). There are also 10 individuals awaiting training, with 4 scheduled to start their classroom training at the end of February

Question 4: When recruitment is next expected to commence for this role?

Answer: Recruitment activity is triggered by a business need. Once we have exhausted the current pool of candidates who are progressing through assessments, a new campaign will be launched. There is, as yet, no definitive timescale for this - however, it is unlikely to be within this financial year.

Question 5: The Current Annual Salary for this role?

Answer: The salary for an SCL2 is £70,829.00.
