Thank you for your request received on 23 November 2018 asking for information about the ban on junk food advertising.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
 
1.       Can you tell me where was the consultation advertised?
2.       How many responses were there to the consultation?

3.       What impact is this ban likely to have on the advertising revenue of TFL?
 
The revenue of advertising of less healthy food and drink on the TfL advertising estate is estimated to be in the region of £13 million per year. However, we do not necessarily expect there to be any significant impact on overall revenue as we expect brands advertising these products to switch to advertising the healthier products in their range. Year on year we cannot anticipate how much impact there will be on our revenue as spend fluctuates between advertisers, but regardless we have a crucial role in the health of all Londoners, which is a responsibility we take seriously. We believe that any impact on revenue would only be in the short-term, as we will work with advertisers to ensure they understand our policy and how to comply with it.
