You asked

I read this article https://www.newcivilengineer.com/latest/exclusive-new-l-shaped-route-proposed-for-rotherhithe-crossing/10037464.article saying the public consultation due this autumn is now not until spring next year "following “major issues” with the bridge design." As a Rotherhithe resident I would like to know how much money has been spent to date on this bridge project before it even gets off the ground and who's funding the project during this embryonic stage. Your reply is much appreciated.

Thank you for your request received on 22 November 2018 asking for information about the Rotherhithe to Canary Wharf crossing Project.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.
 
The total spend as of 10 November 2018, the last complete financial period, on this river crossing project is £7.75 million which has been funded by Transport for London through its Business Plan.
 
This funding covers initial optioneering, delivery and analysis of the first public consultation, as well as modelling and engineering design work towards a preferred option ahead of a second public consultation on the proposed crossing next year.
